What is true leadership?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 08, 2007:
Perhaps I'm influenced from the Labour MP in "Sicko," but I think true leadership is when the efforts, talents, and gifts of individuals are harnessed in collaboration so that when people look back on the project or goal, they think they did it themselves. Which, of course, they did--but with the help of a leader or two who kept things coordinated and moving forward. A true leader is someone who makes each individual feel special, worthwhile, and like they contributed the crucial piece (and did it themselves).
